I've been through 3 other pedometers. None has been as sturdy and accurate as this one (I've dropped it twice with no adverse effects). I love that I can take off the clip and slip it into my pocket or my bra with the same excellent results. It doesn't even need to be upright! Plus all the cool features make the Omron HJ112 a 5-star purchase.
Update: Today is 8/30/08. I've still got the same Omron HJ112 pedometer and although I've dropped it many more times over the years, it's still going strong. I need to change the battery about every 6 months but, if/when it ever dies, I'll purchase the same brand.
