I have owned several pedometers (peds), and I haven't found the perfect one yet - but this is the best so far.
I've found that there are usually several trade-offs when purchasing a ped: appearance, size, accuracy, durability, ease-of-use, clipping mechanism.
I only wear my ped when walking (e.g., I don't jog with it or play sports), but all of my previous peds have broken in one way or another - it's usually the clip or the motion sensor (i.e., the thing that counts each step). So my biggest criteria for this ped was durability, and I chose this one based on several online reviews, and so far so good!
The clip is OK (I've seen better), and it has a lanyard (additional safety cord with clip) which you will need if you wear this on your belt (because it will unclip on occasion). If you want to put this in your pocket (which is supposed to work because it has two motion sensors), then you won't need the clip - which detaches.
The accuracy is good (no ped is perfect), but some just don't count accurately at all.
I'm not crazy about the size and appearance, but I can live with them especially since I've been pleasantly surprised with it's superior ease-of-use. Once you set-up this ped, you almost never have to push any buttons ever again (at least you wouldn't if it didn't have the Mode button - explained below). You set the clock, and then you start walking. Every night at midnight it resets your Step Count, so in he morning you're ready to go again. It keeps track of your steps for the last 7 days, so you don't loose them. Note, if you want your Step Count to get reset at some other time of day (i.e., not at midnight), just fake-it out by setting the clock to the wrong time.
To me the Mode button is a minor annoyance. All I want to know is the number of steps that I've walked, but this ped also tracks aerobic steps and distance (e.g., miles). You cycle thru each of these counts using the Mode Button, so if the Mode Button gets pressed accidentally (which often happens), I have to use the Mode Button to get to my Step Count. But as I said, this is a minor problem.
So far nothing has broken!
