After going through a few cheap ones that were complete failures, I decided to get what was said to be the best to count my daily steps. And it's really wonderful! While it has a clip, it can be used without that--can be tossed into the pocket of my jeans and still works. I even put it in the pocket of my robe in the evening. Works in all positions except parallel to the ground. Amazing! Functions as a pocket watch, too, by the way. Don't hesitate to choose this pedometer.
