I have been using it for a little over a month now and I like the sleek design. it's well made. it works good while I am getting exercise,Like when taking a nice long walk, but it resets itself out of the blue.
I have learned to write down my steps every so often because I don't know when it will reset itself. I'm not bumping the button to cause this because you have to hold the button in awhile to reset it. Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

The Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer, was well worth the money spent. I've been wearing it for about 2 full weeks now. It was easy to set-up, and easy to start using. The instructions were simple. It is easy to read and it does so much. I feel like I am in competition with myself, to get that 10,000 steps or more a day in. I could have gone for a less exspensive model, but for a few extra $$, having a 7 day history, a clock, aerobic steps, calorie counter, and miles walked is well worth the money. If you are serious about your exercise, about being and getting in shape then this is the pedometer for you. It will make you park further away from the door, even take the stairs instead of the elevator, just to get in those few extra steps.
UPDATE - well I really did love my Omron HJ-112 Pedometer, that is until the day my English Bulldog Blanche got a hold of it. She stared at me, laughing, with every crunch as she held it in between her jaws, crunch, crunch. It actually still running, but the LED display is cracked and I can't read it. So I still think is is a great bit of equipment, I just advise that you keep it out of reach of your four legged friends.Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

Watching the news one day, I learned that in order to be healthy, one should strive to walk 10,000 steps a day. Intrigued by this information, I did a search on Amazon and found this Omron HJ-112 pedometer. I decided to buy one for myself because I figured I easily walked 10,000 steps a day. I am an elementary school teacher and I'm constantly on the move. I also have two dogs and I walk them often. Surprise, surprise! When I got this pedometer, I found I only walked 5,000 steps--and that's on a good day. Now that I'm more conscious of my walking, I am making more of an effort to get those extra steps in. One might say I've even become a little obsessed. I clip it to my bathrobe after my shower, I clip it to my sock when I'm bicycling, and I keep it next to my bed at night so it's right there when I wake up the next morning. I love how it tracks your information (steps, aerobic steps, miles walked, and calories) for the previous 7 days.
This is a wonderful product! I've already bought one for my husband and recommended it to at least 5 friends who bought one. I also plan on buying one for my sedentary father, who has gained some weight recently and is looking for motivation.
You will not be sorry if you buy this product. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

I've bought a number of $10 dollar cheapie pedometers over the last few years and they never last and never calculate right. This Omron pedometer can't be beat, especially at the $21.65 price I paid for it on Amazon. It's easy to use, accurate and the belt loop safety strap and clip, in case it slips off your belt, protects your investment. There's no stop watch, but it has this great aerobic step mode that once you reach an aerobic heart rate (as calculated by your stride length and weight) starts a clock that tracks how long you've walked at an aerobic heart rate. I chose it because it was top rated in Consumer Reports and now, after two months of use, I couldn't be happier with it.Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

I wanted to start walking more as I have a very sedentary job. I bought a Sportline pedometer first (Sportline 353 Talking Pedometer) about a year ago. It worked fine counting steps but had other issues.
It was constantly slipping off my waistband and bouncing off the floor. It also easily reset. If I bumped the reset button with the seat belt all my fine walking data was lost. You could theoretically keep a walking tally for a week - but I accidentally hit the reset button 2-3 times a day at times. It was very frustrating. The clip broke after about 3 months, so I retired it.
I bought a Omron HJ112 Premium Pedometer and have worn it almost every day since. It has a teather. Even if the clip slips off my waistband, the pedometer dangles from the teather - it doesn't bounce off the floor. Also the clip is part of a separate holder - if the spring breaks it could easily and inexpensively be replaced.
It also works attached to my bookbag or purse strap, in my pocket or in my purse. It doesn't count as well attached to a down jacket pocket -- but a denim jacket or blazer lapel works fine.
It has a clock, and a 7 day memory. At midnight it automatically stores the day's data and resets to zero. It tallies daily: steps, mileage, calories burned, aerobic steps, and time spent in aerobic activity. It saves that information (except for time spent in aerobic activity) for 7 days. This is good if I am traveling and not near my fitness log for 2-3 days.
One trick: Sometimes I go out walking at 11:30 PM -- especially if I have been on the computer all evening. But the pedometer resets at midnight -- late night walks would get split over 2 days. So I leave the clock off by one hour. The pedometer starts its new day at 1AM. And I am always in bed by then. Promise. :-)
I like very much that it counts the number of aerobic steps and the time spent. My goal (in addition to just walking more) is to walk a minimum of 30 minutes a day at an aerobic pace (and increasing this amount). According to the manual: "Aerobic steps are counted separately when walking or jogging more than 60 steps per minute or more than 10 minutes continuously."
The pedometer has been very helpful. If I come in from the bus stop and just go to my desk I walk about 1000 steps. If I come in from the bus stop and keep moving for just a few minutes longer - climb the stairs to my office on an upper floor and then go get water for coffee - I get in 10 minutes of aerobic activity.
When I started wearing a pedometer I was getting in about 3000 steps a day (none aerobic). I average about 8000 now and working up to 10,000 (about 4000 aerobic).
I haven't changed much noticeabe. I park on the other side of the parking lot at the grocery store. I walk the cart back to the store -- not just the buggy coral. I get off the bus a stop early - about a block and a half away (1000 steps). I take the stairs at work (20 steps per floor). I walk the dog each night for about 30 minutes (5000 steps). I sit outside for lunch instead of sitting in my office with a sandwich (1000 steps). Little extra steps like this all day long add up.
Walking is great exercise and unlike swimming or going to the gym, all I have to do is walk out the door. "Aerobics on a stick" I call it. The pedometer helps me stay motivated and it reminds me to walk walk walk! Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

I have had expensive pedometers and cheap ones also. This one is on the expensive end and is less accurate than the [...] Wal mart version. It will jump from 0 to 60 steps while I am holding it and just looking at it and then when I am looking to see how many steps I happened to go in a particular part of my workout it doesn't register those steps at all. Also after working out with it to step routines for two weeks it has yet to register any aerobic steps at all. I like the fact that it records steps for 7 days but if they are completely wrong there is no value there.Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

I bought this pedometer because I liked the aspect of being able to put it in my pocket during the day. However, I have found that it is incredibly sensitive. I teach at the college level and do a lot of writing on the blackboard. I know I don't pace around the room that much, but apparently just moving my arm up and down while writing is enough to make this thing think I am taking many steps. So I learned to leave it in my office while I taught. But otherwise, it is a really great product and very easy to read.Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

The Omron model HJ-112 is an awesome pedometer. I have used every day for over a month now, and I am extremely happy with the quality and performance.
I carry my pedometer all day. When I work out on the eliptical machine at the gym, or take a walk outside for exercise, it measures the aerobic steps perfectly vs. regular steps. I have no idea how the pedometer can distinguish between steps and aerobic steps, but it does!
Yesterday, I accidently left the pedometer in the pocket of my warm up pants when I did laundry. The pedometer went all the way through the wash and spin cycle. Then I put the clothes in the dryer, and wondered what the heck that clunking noise was in the dryer. I was so sad to discover that it was my pedometer. I took the pedometer apart and let it dry out overnight. I re-assembled it the next morning, and to my amazement - it still works perfectly! This is one tough pedometer.
I have had other pedometers in the past, but didn't use them because they didn't work right. If you want a high quality pedometer that really works, this one is the absolute best.Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

I have had experience with 2 different pedometers. My first one was a cheap $4.00 "GoWalking by Sportline". The only thing I liked about it was that it measured every little step I took fairly accurately. Compared to it, the Omron is a high-quality item, with many more functions. The only thing that I don't care for is that it doesn't count every little step when I'm puttering around the house (I like to count total steps in the day). The literature says it doesn't start counting until about 4 steps. That's no big deal, because it works so well otherwise. I like the "aerobic counter" that tells me how many of my steps are at a certain level of exercise. I like the calorie counter, but it's no big deal. I also like the other features, such as the clock and the mileage counter. I recommend it. BTW, I'm not using the cheap one any longer.Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.
Where To Buy Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer
I 've bought over 40 pedometers (many seem to just have different names but the same manufacturer--I bought every one on Amazon and many other "stores" one week and tested them on myself and the best 5 on patients as well) in my search to help my patients and readers monitor their RealAge Workouts. This pedometer is the one I use...cause it works and cause it is hard for me and now my patients to loose or knock off permanently with seat belts especially airline seat belts or catch in suit coats--the strap has an attachment that fastens on to skirts (not me) or beltless trousers (like shorts or swimming trunks) so you can really hit that 10,000 number or whatever number you shoot for every day. We've had two of this model pedometer, and several other types before.
Plus features: Excellent step counting capability, the unit seems to be able to stay within 1% of the actual steps taken, and this is maybe 5 times better than others I have used. The distance calculation for all of them should be the same, and accurate, depending on the stride length used.
The finish on this product is EXCELLENT, suggesting the overall quality of the product. No problems so far.
The design capability is somewhat unique. The pedometer starts reading automatically every day, and keeps values until reset, making it excellent for step counting folks.
It also indicated distance, overall steps, cardio steps, calories consumed, clock time, and steps taken for days of the last week. Other values except steps taken are not retained. I think I have these right.
No indication of walking speed however.
Overall, excellent quality and value!

I bought this about a year ago at the same time as starting a diet and exercise program. I lost 24 lbs by watching my food intake, making healthy choices and getting my 10000 steps a day. I try to make walking a priority but some days I'm just running around doing errands, and can't take time out to exercise, so I park the car further away from where I'm going and take the stairs not the escalator/elevator. Very accurate and an excellent example of quality. I especially like the automatic reset at midnight each day - keeps you from having to reset it each day before walking. The safety clip is a "must" as it can dislodge from the holder with little to no effort as I wear mine on my belt. The memory is handy if you keep records of your walks in that you don't have to record the walks every day. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to make it about half the size it is, comparable to that of other pedometers. I noticed my drug store sold them for twice what I paid at Amazon. I can't imagine this pedometer not suiting anyone - nice. Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

I can't say enough good things about the Omron HJ112 Pedometer. I've only been using mine for two months and already it has kept me honest in terms of the actual steps I take, plus it keeps me more fit in the process. Because of that, it is also a good motivating tool. Without an accurate way to count our steps, none of us can honestly say just how many steps we take on a daily basis, can we? This product helps!
The simple instructions make programming the pedometer easy, as it is based on your own personal stride, weight, etc. The numbers are large and dark, very easy to read. And besides counting regular steps, it also counts aerobic steps, calories burned and miles covered, all at the touch of a button. In addition, a 'memory' button allows you to view your last seven days of all functions (steps, aerobic steps, calories and miles). There is a watch/clock mode as well, and its measurements are a compact 2 3/4 in x 2 in. It's also very lightweight! My husband lost his on a business trip...whoever was lucky enough to find it hopefully is making good use of it.
If you're looking for an accurate way to count your steps and a good way to motivate yourself to just get out there and walk, this is for you!Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

I've been using this pedometer for a while now, and I absolutely love it. My previous model was a Sportline, which was smaller and sort of rectangular-shaped. Some may complain that the Omron is too large, but that long oval shape helps keep the pedometer from rolling with the waistline on your pants. When a pedometer isn't perpendicular to the ground, it's not going to work. That was one thing that rendered my Sportline totally useless.
This pedometer has so many benefits I enjoy. It comes with a little safety cord. At first I thought this was overkill and something I didn't really need. However, after knocking the Omron off a couple times, I attached the safety cord and have appreciated it since.
The Omron pedometer has multiple features. First, it will count your steps during the day. Since you've entered your height, weight and age, it will also count as aerobic steps when you reach so many steps per minute. At the end of the day you can take a look at your total steps and see how many of those were actually aerobic as well as how many minutes you spent in an aerobic zone.
It can be worn in a pocket, in a purse held closely at your side (in order to match your gait rather than swing freely on its own). These other options free you up to count your steps every day without wondering where the heck you'll attach the pedometer if you don't have something with a waistline on.
There's also a memory function. The pedometer resets itself at midnight every night and stores 10 days' worth of info.
I'm very happy with the pedometer. Something so simple and inexpensive has already inspired me to lose a several pounds and become more active. Each day I'm motivated to get closer to that 10,000 steps per day goal. Every day seeing the readout on the pedometer is motivation to break the previous day's record. I highly recommend this pedometer for anyone who wants to get moving and improve their health in a sane manner that is all about consistency and permanent life changes toward health. Cheap Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer
I purchased two of these pedometers (one for me and one for mom). Easy to set, easy to wear, and accurate. I especially like the ability to view steps, miles, calories burned, and aerobic steps- plus the time. Also enjoy the fact that it resets itself and has a seven day memory, . Discount Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer
I got this one as a present - nudge, nudge, wink, wink - and yes, it helps me to get my exercise done. The Omron pedometer is fairly accurate in distance and it records for me what I have achieved. The feedback about the calories I have burned is like a pat on my shoulder and it motivates me to finaly loose the extra pounds. And the walking already got my slightly raised blood-pressure down to normal. A very recommendable device for anyone trying to get off the diet-jojo. My only complaint is that it is a little bigger and heavier than I would like.Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.

Before the Omron I had another pedometer which was wildly inaccurate. The Omron is fairly easy to set up though the directions can be confusing; as long as one is walking on a hard surface it is accurate. But on a padded carpet it cannot be counted on to record steps accurately.Get more detail about Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer.
