I bought this pedometer from my local Walmart for just under $20 today and it did come with a battery included. I had read here before that it did not include the battery so Omron must have changed the packaging. It is a 3 volt CR2032 Lithium coin cell battery.
It fits comfortably in my pocket and so far seems to count very accurately. I like the safety strap with clip -- I just hope I don't forget to take it out of my pocket before doing laundry!
