UPDATE:
I just bought a replacement unit after using my previous Omron HJ-112 for 2 years and 7 months. During that time it has logged approximately 10 Million steps, over 15,000 hours of operation, and over 5300 miles. I carry it with me every waking hour of the day every day.
It is very tough and durable and resistant to drops and bumps. I've dropped it too many times to count and it just kept on working. Alas, I finally dropped it one time too many from a high altitude to a hard surface - MY BAD, not the fault of the pedometer. I've checked the accuracy many times and always find it much better than the advertised 5%. For quality, durability and reliability I put it right up there with my faithful Honda Accord!

I've been using mine for about a month. I check it for accuracy occasionally and each time have found it to be right on. It is a little bulky but looks nice hanging on your belt. It can also be worn or carried in a pouch etc, and will still work nicely. It is very easy to use right out of the box. It is a great motivational tool, it is helping me meet or exceed my 10,000 steps per day. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a full 5 stars is the size.
