This is a great pedometer. Our family has and uses two. It is easily calibrated and seems to be fairly accurate. (It is not the fault of the pedometer when I don't really do my 10,000 steps.) When you first start off the steps are not shown on the display; however, the count seems to be registering and updates in what I call a batch mode.
