I am very enthusiastic about my new Omron HJ112 for a number of reasons. (1) I've read reviews on the web saying that it is accurate, and my own experiences with it so far have borne this out. On a walk today I tested it repeatedly by counting steps, and repeatedly found it dead-on accurate. Moreover, it doesn't register false steps when you jostle it around. (2) I like the distinction it makes between steps and aerobic steps: the latter only register when you walk more or less non-stop for at least ten minutes. (The down side of this, however, is that you can be cheated out of these minutes if you're compelled to stop for longer than a minute, say, eight minutes into a walk.) (3) The design of the controls is very sensible. You won't find yourself rooting around for directions to try to figure out how the thing works. (4) The thing is elegant! Attractive, plus it's got a clip-on holster it fits into snugly and a cord with clip for added security. I am very happy with this product.
